Does True Compassion provide traditional counseling or therapy services?

True Compassion offers short-term consulting and coaching services designed to help individuals and organizations navigate circumstances of crisis, conflict, and transition. The consulting and coaching services help clients learn about challenging topics and available resources, identify applicable frameworks, evaluate options, and make wise decisions that are priority and priciples-driven. True Compassion does not offer diagnosis or clinical treatment. Some clients may benefit from or seek a longer-term counseling or clinical therapuetic relationship. True Compassion can help connect clients to appropriate additional services and may be able to provide ongoing consulting services with the client and their provider.

Can True Compassion help me form a non-profit, or file my taxes?

True Compassion is not offering these services. Its focus is to help clients through times of conflict, crisis, and transition.

Does True Compassion provide public accounting services?

True Compassion is not a public accounting firm and does not offer public accounting services. Any services constituting public accounting must be separately agreed upon and contracted with Crystal L. Lyons, in her individual capacity.

How do fees and pricing work?

Fees are charged on an hourly rate based upon the service provided, or on a project basis. Additional fees may apply to offset the cost of travel time and expenses. Organizations referring individuals for services may pay those fees directly to True Compassion, or may refer the individuals for self-pay. True Compassion offers rates designed to maximize access to needed services. Individuals may discuss whether a sliding scale can be implemented for consulting and coaching services and for mediation and dispute resolution services.

Why are different services offered at different rates?

Rates are established based upon the complexity of the services provided. Different services require more resources and are associated with increased costs, risk, and potential liability. True Compassion seeks to work with clients to tailor the services offered to the level needed for particular circumstances while providing competent and ethical professional services.

Is True Compassion a non-profit organization?

True Compassion Advisory Services, LLC is organized and registered as a limited liability company in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. True Compassion is not a recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. True Compassion is committed to providing its services in a non-discriminatory manner, to as many clients with need as possible, and to faithfully stewarding the resources provided and earned.

Purchases of a subscription help support the work of True Compassion in creating content and curating other resources, and making those resources freely available to all. At this time, True Compassion is accepting indvidual clients only through referral by organizations working with the company. If you are a church or other faith-based organization, please fill out our contact form and we'll be in touch to discuss what services we can provide you and your members. If you are an individual, let your local church or organization know you'd like to work with True Compassion.

If I consult with True Compassion, does True Compassion represent me as my attorney or provide legal advice?

Consulting and coaching services do not constitue legal advice and do not create an attorney-client relationship. Consulting and coaching services offered are informed by legal, business/financial, and person-focused (relationships and institutions) principles and experience, but they do not provide the same in-depth level of analysis typical of legal advice or representation and should not be construed as a substitute for the advice of legal counsel. On occasion, True Compassion may offer to provide legal services following an initial consultation. In those instances, both the client and True Compassion must sign a separate engagement letter for the provision of legal services before an attorney-client relationship is formed or legal opinions are rendered.

Can True Compassion represent me In an ongoing dispute or litigation?

True Compassion does not specialize in representing clients in ongoing disputes and litigation due to the time commitment and resources necessary for such representation, and to be able to preserve its ability to provide a variety of services to clients. True Compassion offers general counsel services, typically involving non-litigation or shorter-term conflict work. True Compassion also provides dispute resolution services, including mediation and other alternative dispute resolution. True Compassion offers investigatory services as a neutral, independent party.

If after consulting with True Compassion, a client determines attorney-client representation is necessary, True Compassion can work with the client to help find suitable representation, and can provide ongoing consulting services with the client and the attorney. On occasion, True Compassion may offer to provide legal services following an initial consultation, however both the client and True Compassion must sign a separate engagement letter regarding the provision and scope of legal services before an attorney-client relationship is formed or legal opinions are rendered. True Compassion is able to represent clients and advise in all levels and stages of litigation, including civil and criminal, and in state and federal court and before agencies, from investigation through appeal.

Where are services provided?

Services can be provided at the client organization, over Google Meet, at True Compassion's home office, or at a mutually agreed-upon alternative location, depending on the nature of the service provided. Additional costs may apply to offset travel time and expenses.

Does True Compassion work with clients who are not Christian?

Yes! True Compassion seeks to work with faith-based organizations and their members to engage in wise decision-making during times of crisis, conflict, and transition that is consistent with living out their faith and values. True Compassion is most familiar with a Biblical perspective in approaching and applying such principles, however values such as justice, mercy, truth, compassion, wisdom, integrity, peacemaking, reconciliation, and impartiality are valued and upheld across many backgrounds.

DOES TRUE COMPASSION OFFER SERVICES OUTSIDE OF MASSACHUSETTS?

True Compassion Advisory Services, LLC is registered in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and at this time provides in-person services only within Massachusetts. Legal and clinical services are offered only within Massachusetts. Some services may be provided remotely outside of Massachusetts, and additional services may be available in California.
